Tenant Services

What does renting a property through RentsDirect involve?

Check what properties we have available by going to the Property Search page. Use the tick boxes to indicate which properties you are interested in.

Fill in the Tenants Registration Form and send it via E-mail. You can alternatively contact us by phone or fax. Please fill in this form. We shall contact you within 24 hours. The information you provide will be kept strictly confidential.

Having viewed the properties, if you wish to proceed with renting one you will need to provide details of referees or guarantors, bank details etc.

You will be asked to pay a fee of 35% +VAT. The fee is only payable if you accept an offer of accommodation through us. We do not charge for viewing or registration.

You will also need to be prepared to pay:

  • A deposit, usually equivalent to one and a half month’s rent. This will be held by either ourselves or the landlord and returned to you at the end of your tenancy, less any deductions are made as permitted under the tenancy agreement.
  • Rent in advance, usually one month’s rent, payable prior to the start of your tenancy.

We usually ask that payments are made in cash, by bankers draft or a building society cheque.

PLEASE NOTE:

Our sole responsibility is to introduce you to the landlord. The legal tenancy agreement will be made between you and the landlord. We must stress therefore that the final decision to accept and enter into a tenancy at any property is solely yours and you must be satisfied yourself that your selected property is suitable for all of your purposes and needs.

Whilst we always try to ensure that the information contained in any letting details prepared by us is accurate, the details are only intended to be a guide. You should therefore rely on your own inspection of the property and the enquiries that you make of the landlord yourself.
